Calling a Coup a Mutha’ Fuggin’ Coup

President Obama is not willing to legally define the recent coup in Honduras as a coup. Apparently it is something that looks very much like a coup but doesn’t require the suspension of US aid. Hmm WTF Mr. Obama. A spade is a mutha fuckin spade, when the military takes the president out of office at gun point that’s a mutha fuckin coup. Why doesn’t Obama want to call it a coup, officially? Why doesn’t he want to cut off support to those who made this coup?

When the US legally defines an action as a coup in a democratic” country it is legally incumbent on them to suspend all US aid. But by dodging the coup bullet Obama can continue aid and just suspend military cooperation. These are some strange word games. The President of Honduras intends to return to his country and is being threatened with arrest. He plans to take the OAS president and 2 national presidents from Latin America with him. The outcome should be interesting.

From a hands off perspective and not getting involved in internal soveriegn country affairs isn’t this exactly what should have done?

Where does it stop? I wonder…maybe here and now? Let them sort it out themselves…

If we call it a coup aren’t we doing exactly what we shouldn’t be doing in Latin America…ie influencing the outcome? I’m not sure but what difference does it make anyway?? are we prepared to use force to put him back in power? I’m just asking….

I’m not sure this is the change you so passionately agrue.

    KonaD,
umm….. no… You see we have HUGE influence in Honduras HUGE! We train most of their officers at Ft Benning… We give them HUGE amounts of aid. To suspend aid when a military overthrows a country is not meddeling in their affairs it is supporting democracy and not supporting military control of governments. But we are DEEP and LONG in bed with their military, thats the point. Washington says they cut off military cooperation but what does that mean? A coup is a coup. To call it something else so that aid can continue to flow, to the coup plotters IS interference in the nation, the US trained those coup plotters in Georgia, the US has been interfeering but doesn’t want to cut support because we are in bed with the coup plotters. I really dont get you.. really you say ” Where does it stop? I wonder…maybe here and now? Let them sort it out themselves…” as if Washington didn’t have a hand in it up til now? What do you mean? To let them sort it out would be to cut all aid… To continue to support the coup plotters is to play into their hand and to effect US influence… Which may be at the heart of the coup to start with… Sorry brah I dont get what you mean.

    KonaD,
Must be deep brother, cause I really don’t understand what you are saying. If you would like to try to explain your comments I would be happy to respond. But you are not being clear at all, well other than the depricating tone wich is pretty much glaring. It is your point that escapes me.

    Skwguitar,
Welcome back, it seems today.com has a rectivism rate about that of San Quinton ;)
