America the Beautiful
Do you smell that? Its coffee folks, so wake the fuck up! Our democracy is on the skids; our most liberal President in over a decade supports the idea of detaining people INDEFINANTLY without charge or trial. Our last president who decided to break our own laws and international laws and tortured innocent people has a sweetheart retirement package that we are paying for. Corporations and banks who were poorly managed and are now bankrupt are being bailed out with our tax dollars. Unemployment is up, the dollar is down and consumer confidence is in the toilet. We are fighting 2 wars that show no sign of an end, we are supporting undemocratic leaders around the world and our Constitution is in the trash while the Patriot Act is still in effect.
Fascism is no longer a creeping menace it is a brutal thug looking us dead in the eye and bitch slapping the electorate while terrorizing the world. Americans care more about American Idol than they do about democracy. Neither Jesus nor John Wayne will be showing up to save the day, this is not a B movie it is our life. Either we pull our collective heads out of our collective asses or our democracy is done, fin, pau, over. We are at the cross roads and the only sense of urgency I can see is fear of the flu. Loss of democracy is much harder to recover than dropping those extra 20lbs gained after marriage. We are in a down hill spiral.
Recognize! ½ the money we spend on war could give most of the world potable water. Children around the world are drinking SHIT, because we care more about market values than we do about infant mortality. Where is our humanity? Where is our sense of decency? And how many people have to die needlessly before the social agenda is questioned?
Our tax dollars have supported Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Husain, Suharto and a long list of terrorists and dictators, yet our government is telling us there is a war on terrorism. BULL FUCKING SHIT. Our government is supporting terrorism and has been for years.
We have the power to stop them. We the people of the
United States of America are responsible for what our government is doing. When they torture people, they are doing it in our name. When they detain people for years without charge or trial, they are doing it in our name. When they drop bombs on children and civilians in distant lands, they are doing it with our tax dollars. Only we can stop them. Only the people of this country have the power to reign in the dogs of war who call the Pentagon their home. To quote Gil Scott Heron “Just how blind will

Europe in 38, did they move to stop Hitler before it was to late?” Fascism is not some nebulous concept from history books it is the alliance between government and business, bail outs, wars of aggression, torture, extra-judicial detention, Presidential immunity from both domestic and international law and Constitutional liberty going down for the count while National Security takes center stage.
Do you care about democracy? Do you care about your country? Do you care about human rights? Do you care about children getting their legs blown off from cluster bombs our nation leaves behind after we are done fighting our little wars? Do you care about birth defects secondary to DU our troops spread around the battlefield? Then do something. Below you can find the means to contact your “leaders” give them a holler and demand better of them. Demand that they uphold the law not circumvent it, demand that they stop supporting dictators and terrorists, demand that they honor the rule of law and hold government officials accountable who do not honor the law. It’s our democracy people, fight for it or loose it, because it is under attack.

Barack Obama promised to be the president that undid all of the “Damage” done by the Bush administration, yet he has not only lived up to the expectations of the right, he has also fell flat when it comes to the promises he made to the left. Guantanamo is looking better and better after he realized that no one wants these thugs in their neighborhoods. He has kept warrentless wire tapping, and brought the next generation of civil rights violations. he’s propping up failing institutions, and promised to punish the profitable companies. He has had recently to apologize for dropping bombs on Innocent civilians. He has taken the Bush doctrine to the next level, yet ask a democratic strategist about these issues and they will say “Oh those were just campaign promises” or “well, he has received information that he didn’t have before.” He is a fascist, a socialist, and yes, possibly a communist, but I seem to remember millions of people around the country declaring that he would bring “Hope and Change.” All he has brought is “more of the same” and when the “Dumb-asses” who voted for him figure out that their rights and their liberties are a thing of the past, it will be too late, because this president won’t let the reins go as easily as the last president did. No he will pull out the nuclear option that was written into law last year, or should I say slipped neatly into a bill that no one read, that would allow him to declare himself supreme leader. Let me try to put this nicely…. Hmm… BITCH PLEASE, you said “Your lovely democrats” fuck you fuck. I am not a democrat and the fact that you suspect me of such just shows how far your head is up your ass. You are the one who defends party politicians, railing against the Democrats, are you actually gullible enough to believe they are a different party’s, they are 2 wings of the same party the party of business.

Now you can go on about how bad Obama sucks and I will not complain about your ranting. But I will say this, Obama is the 1st president in my life time that has done anything that directly benefited me. His stimulus package allowed me to keep my Cobra coverage after being laid off at 35% of what it would have cost before the stimulus package. So credit where credit is due, but I still can’t stand Democrats or Republicans.
Oh, and breaking campaign promises is almost a tradition for both parties so hollering about how Obama has broke them is taking the easy shot. He is a politician my brother, politicians lie, period. Nothing to do with party affiliation.
