Red Cross Details Torture of US Prisoners; When Do We Get a War Crimes Tribunal?
The Red Cross report makes no bones about it, the CIA tortured prisoners. Tortured them in accordance with White House directives is more like it, no uncertain terms “cruel inhuman, or degrading treatment”, “tortured”… Now granted the report was not intended for our eyes, but for the eyes of the CIA. But now we have it, and we also have Attorney General Holder who has stated unequivocally that waterboarding is torture. We have a former president and vice president who have approved of waterboarding. (Not to mention, most of the White House Principles who were informed about this policy)
So how did the “liberal media” greet this news? Hours after sections of the report were leaked Cheney appeared on CNN and was interviewed by John King. Did this mouthpiece for the liberal media outlet take Mr. Cheney to task over war crimes and crimes against humanity? Nope. You see Obama has decided to only “interrogate” prisoners in accordance with the US Army Field Manual, which means you’re not suppose to torture them. So Mr. King asked Dick if he believed that our president has made us less safe by rejecting torture as a means of interrogation. Oh the liberal media they are so harsh on these neo-cons.
What will Mr. Obama do? He has got a bloody mess on his hands. The CIA has destroyed over 90 interrogation videos. These high value prisoners that they so needed to torture for information and they destroyed the interrogation tapes!?… Yeah OK. This shit makes Nixon look like an alter boy. Who authorized the destruction of these tapes, who has seen these tapes and can testify? Where are the indictments? Hold the goddamn phone! The CIA was torturing people, the Red Cross lays their crimes bare, the president and most every principle in his inner circle knew what was going down and conspired with scumbags like John Yoo to provide a legal framework for their war crimes. Hey! Come on now. Where is our Just-is Department? Hello, can you hear us Mr. Attorney General Holder? By your words these actions are torture and you have Red Cross reports to back it up, you have the CIA destroying the evidence. What are you doing sir? Do your friggin job and bring indictments. Lock these bastards up and let’s air out all the evidence! Are you waiting for the CIA to destroy the rest of the evidence? Get on the damn job Mr. Holder, and you too Mr. Obama. We don’t need to hear any bullshit about how Mr. Obama wants to look forward and not back. We want to look forward too, look forward to a day when war criminals like Bush and Cheney are not protected by their position and are held accountable to the rule of law.
We have a never ending war because of the lies the Bush administration perpetrated on this country and the world. They committed war crimes, crimes against humanity, crimes against our people and constitution. These guys are the “worst of the worst” they stole our democracy and laid the foundation for a police state, and if Obama and his lackeys in the Just-is Department don’t bring charges then they are no better. Our national security that has been compromised by these tactics, tactics which serve as PR fodder for terrorist organizations recruiting drives, these crimes serve to confirm peoples worst impression of what America is all about. The American people can not accept a “truth commission” we can not accept only low level convictions of people like Pfc. Lynndie England. We must demand that the “principles” be brought to trial. There is no substitute for charges against Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Hayden, Gonzales, Yoo and all those involved in committing, rationalizing and covering up these crimes.

Great job dsent. Let’s remember that it appears that Rumsfeld was the one who gave the Pentagon the OK to use these tactics. Though drastic: Rumsfeld is to Bush as Himmler was to Hitler. They were their harbingers of doom. It’s time we hang these fuckers. Clinton got more shit for a stinkin hummer in the Oval Office (good for him). I have grown so tired of these ball less politicos. Cheney as much as admitted to these violations-slap the goddamn cuffs on him. Likeyou: I am all for looking forward but part of going forward is holidng those accountable for past crimes so they never happen again. Time to stop being pussies and correct the Gitmo problem and proceed with war crime investigations
Tailback,
Thanx, I agree with your assessment of Rumsfeld, only I kind of think of him as Cheney’s Himler and I rather think of Bush like Cheney’s little neo-fascist muppet, I mean I think he should hang with the rest of them but I think Bush is the weakest mind I have ever seen in any head of state position.
