Al-Qaeda; Lazy, Incompetent or Illusory
Since 9/11 the US government has bombarded the American people with colored threat levels and stupid precautions like taking off rubber slippers at the airport, all in the name of security. Well, do you feel more secure? I for one feel less secure. Dropping bombs on Afghan and Iraqi civilians, torturing, kidnapping, imprisoning with out trial, extraordinary rendition and the trashing of the Geneva Conventions all seem to me things that grotesquely undermine our national security. There has been no comprehensive analysis of our country’s foreign policy, no serious criminal investigation into the attacks of 9/11 and no continued action by Al-Qaeda within the
United States. We have been told there are terrorist cells functioning inside the US borders. What are they doing? Going to Wednesday night bowling leagues? Because they sure are not terrorizing me or anyone I know. Maybe the struggling economy has cut into their operations budget. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s Bullshit. Fear of an invisible enemy can be a handy tool to manipulate public opinion. Sometimes, in the absence of a rational explanation, questions can be very enlightening, questions like, how do terrorists knock down 3 buildings with 2 airplanes? Or questions like why didn’t the 9/11 commission see fit to mention the collapse of World Trade Center 7 anywhere in their report? Or questions like if Al-Qaeda is so hell bent on terrorizing us why haven’t they accomplished anything in the
USA in over 7yrs? Another question, if killing civilians in a hijacked commercial airliner is terrorism why isn’t it terrorism when you kill them with a fighter bomber? And one last question, who are the terrorists now?
Like any religious extremists, Al Quaeda probably thought that all they had to do was kickstart the global jihad and then all the people in the world would see how right they were and join in. Lucky for the rest of the world that like any religious extremists, Al Quaeda are a bunch of dumbasses. If you’re dumb enough to kill people for your imaginary friend in the sky, you’re dumb enough to think that your one plan will be enough.

I like the name of your blog plus your little justice pun. Good post today too, at some point we need to take a long and hard look at how we operate as a leader in the free world. Obama may or may not be the right man for this… I guess we’ll find out!
